~ A Co-operative Universe ~
When we tune in to the evening news, and see that there are still
wars going on, and businesses in trouble, and people out of work,
and an apparent economic meltdown taking place - probably the
farthest thing from our mind is the idea that we live in a
co-operative Universe.
Yet, is it not true that the Universe reflects back to us the
dominant thoughts going round and round in our mind? So, if we have
a large bloc of people focusing on revenge, on thousand-year-old
hurts, on "my way or the highway," then it stands to reason that
these folks will be stuck in a combative environment. Which gets
reported on the evening news. Which draws more people in to the
combative energy - and on it goes.
But what if a large enough bloc of people focuses on what they
appreciate about themselves and others... and the situation they
find themselves in - right now. Surely we can find something
positive to focus on for even a few minutes a day.
What if enough of us remembered to do this a few times during the
day - every day? Again, it stands to reason that we'd find ourselves
more and more often feeling good about ourselves, the people we're
with and the situation we find ourselves in.
It might seem as if the positive people and events just "happened"
along, but that's not really the case. Our own thoughts and feelings
created the energy... the vibrational alignment... the situational
ambience that allowed it all to come together. This is the other
side of the coin, when we talk about a "co-operative Universe."
The Law of Attraction never fails us. And it doesn't really care
about the consequences.
It just is.
So it's up to us whether we align our energy with fear, hate or
despair - or with whatever makes us feel good.
These days, I take the news in small doses - enough to stay
informed, but not enough to get twitchy.
I'm also remembering to not focus so much on how to pay for
Christmas, as I am on recapturing the joy and unbridled enthusiasm
of the *Spirit* of Christmas.
The holidays are a time of "good cheer" and if a large enough bloc
of us focuses on cheer for the coming weeks, we can park "fear"
outside for awhile (maybe forever), since the holidays give us a
strong focal point for cheeriness... all the way to the New Year.
What brings your cheeriness quotient up during the holiday season?
For me, it's seeing the home-made ornaments on my Christmas tree and
the lawn decorations and lights all around my neighborhood. I really
appreciate the creativity people bring to the holidays. I love the
reds and greens of Christmas, too. These two colors are like a
shortcut to my brain that shouts, "Fill me with joy!" And so they
do.
I grew up with a Christmas tradition, but there are enough holidays
in December to go around.
What makes this time of year special for you - in a positive way?
What is there about this season that opens your heart and makes you
feel terrific?
We can make 2008 the best holiday season ever - for us and the
world.
Cheers,
Barbara

User-Friendly Websites
Site Build It is having its annual
"Buy 1, Get 1 Free" special -
until December 25.
This is a great way to (1) get a web presence for yourself and
(2) give a totally awesome gift to a friend or family member.
Put a business in someone's stocking this year.
Or split the cost with someone you know... and get an inexpensive
do-it-yourself website with loads of bells and whistles (including a
blog) - and the best internet marketing manual I've ever seen.
What I like about the SiteSell/SiteBuildIt folks is that they don't
charge you extra every time they add a new component. Over the
years, they have added ezine capability, blog, e-commerce and more,
but have never charged for these add-ons. You get them included free
with your Site Build It purchase price.
Because I started back in the late 1990s with FrontPage, I'm not
using Site Build It myself currently. But I did test it when it
originally came out a few years ago... and it really is pretty easy
to figure out and use. And if you want to understand internet
marketing... the manual that comes with it is terrific.
The special is good until Christmas Day - December 25.
If you visit the site using the link below, make sure to take the
video tour and read the case studies. Ordinary people making a
