I am a major fan of Robert Middleton and his excellent "InfoGuru Marketing Manual," which I have owned since 2002.  

Within the first four pages of the manual, Robert had me hooked -- and taking notes. He's especially strong on the principles of "giving before receiving" (in the form of information) and selling innovative results-based solutions that clients want and need.

Middleton covers the many P's of Marketing: positioning,  packaging, promotion, persuasion, performance and pricing. He leads you to identify your "ideal client" profile and sheds light on the professional selling process. Like it or not, knowing how to "close the sale" is important if you want to sign up new clients.

This is the best manual I've seen for independent professionals who are ready to move their business forward - fast.
