What's Affiliate Program Marketing All About?
I believe we can make a difference... and make good money at the same time. And I
don't think we have to put in 16 hour days to do it. The World Wide Web gives us exciting
opportunities to help one another build our businesses co-operatively, through affiliate programs.
I like your product. I offer it on my website through your affiliate
program. You pay me a referral fee. You like my product. You offer it on
your website through my affiliate program. I pay you a referral fee.
Everything is automated, (except maybe the check writing). And everyone
wins.

The buyers of the products know they're not buying a "pig in a poke" because of
our personal endorsements. |
 |
We receive new visitors to our websites through this cooperative
exchanging of affiliate program links. |
 |
And best of all, once the affiliate program links are in
place, and search engines notified, everything occurs in the background, with no huge demands of
our time. |
 |
Even if you don't have your own products to sell, you can succeed in affiliate program
marketing. Some of the
best
affiliate marketing learning tools are listed here too. |
There is a learning curve in the beginning, of course, just as there
is with any new business opportunity, but once we know the ropes, we can
duplicate the result. In fact, many people earn huge incomes just promoting
affiliate programs. To become a successful affiliate maven, however, you
need to know what you're doing.
The resource I recommend for starters is...
The Super Affiliate Handbook by Rosalind
Gardner
If you're not sure if affiliate programs are for you,
two excellent free resources to check out are
The
Affiliate Masters Course and
Make Your Site Sell by Ken Evoy.
If you're new to affiliate marketing, a brief outline of
affiliate marketing basics is below.
Affiliate Marketing Basics
It's easy and rewarding. Just by
mentioning high quality
products and services on your website, you can earn referral
fees for sales resulting from your links.
If you're not familiar with the concept, here's
how affiliate programs work.
Visitors to your website (or your ezine
readers) click on a coded link that takes them to another website where
they either buy something or sign up for something and then you are paid
a commission for referring them.
There are now thousands of companies
using affiliate links as their "salespeople" on the web,
including
Louise Hay and Hay House,
Mike Dooley's
Infinite Possibilities and
Spiritual Cinema Circle .
Even
Million Dollar Bills has an
affiliate program.
Hooking up with vendors who sell this way
is easy. And we've made it even easier, by starting you off with links to products
with affiliate programs that you can feel proud to offer on your
website.
The most familiar company conducting an
affiliate program is
Amazon.com.
Click on the link called "Associate Program" for details on
how it works and how you can become an Amazon affiliate (associate).
When you join, you can refer visitors to millions of books and other
Amazon products right from your website - and if you use your special
Amazon code, you receive a commission for each item sold. You can pick
and choose just the right mix of items that fit your website's theme and
your visitors' interests.
The affiliate program concept is brilliant.
Making it work to bring in thousands of dollars a month in
"passive" income requires some thought and a plan. I strongly
recommend reading Ken Evoy's
FREE
Affiliate Masters Course for starters and then following up with
Make
Your Site Sell -- to really know what you're doing.
Affiliate How-To
If affiliate marketing is a new concept to you, here's a very helpful e-book written by Rosalind Gardner, a
former air traffic controller who makes over $400,000 a year - just from affiliate program commissions.

Super Affiliate Handbook.
If you've never used affiliate links on
your website or in your emails, here are two articles by top
internet marketer Ralph Wilson, on how to get the best results from your affiliate
programs.

How
an affiliate program works
-
Choosing
affiliate programs that are right for your website
Just choose programs that are compatible
with your website's theme and with your visitors' wants and needs.
Affiliate linking works best if you are
familiar with the products you offer. Visit the websites of the items you
are interested in and look them over carefully. It's also a good idea to
try the products yourself before offering them to your visitors. If you
can post a positive testimonial with your affiliate links, your website
visitors are more likely to consider purchasing the items.
When you're convinced that the product or
service is right for you to offer on your own website, click on the
"Affiliate Program" or "Affiliate Details" button or
link. Occasionally you'll have to scroll to the bottom of the page to find
it. Read the Affiliate Agreement before joining.
When you sign up for some affiliate
programs, you might have to wait a day or two while your affiliate partner
checks out your website. Many of the better
affiliate programs are choosy about where they are displayed on the world
wide web. If your website is in line with their message and mission,
you'll be approved in quick order.
Some affiliate programs have direct links
to e-books and pre-approval is not required, though you may need to open a
free affiliate account with
ClickBank
or some other vendor in order to sell the products.
You'll usually receive your approval by
email, along with any ID numbers and passwords you'll need to access the
affiliate section of the respective websites. Print these out and save
the emails. I make a new file folder for each affiliate program I
join, and I clearly print my User Name, Password and Affiliate Link on the
front of the file folder for easy look-up.
Once you have your personal ID and codes,
you can have fun choosing the banners and text links you wish to display.
Then copy and paste the provided html "code" for the banners and
links on your website (or email the code to your webmaster).
The affiliate programs listed here were
selected for maximum potential helpfulness of the products they represent
— and for their uniqueness or excellence.
Life, business and relationships are meant
to be joyful and fulfilling. These tools can help you achieve joy, success
and fulfillment for yourself, your clients and website visitors.
